There are a lot of changes as we go from summer into winter.Weather is naturally one of them.  But did you know the change in weather also affects your car?It would seem that there are more cases of auto problems encountered during winter time.If you live in a place where the weather is usually harsh then your car can really break down.We would be discussing some reasons as to why cars are affected by the weather.

In my Escondido auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries.  The main reason is because when it is cold your battery is usually powering a lot more things in your car.And because of that it runs a little harder.  Your headlights are usually running longer with the shorter days. And the heater also takes more energy from the battery as compared to an aircon. So to prevent battery problems you must always look at your batteries if they are in good condition before going out in harsh weather.

Next problem that happens in the cold weather are frozen fuel lines.  This isn’t a big auto problem for my Oceanside auto repair service.  But this is a big problem in cold weather cities. This happens when you let your car run low on fuel and then the condensation starts. And if that condensation freezes it can stop the fuel from flowing.  The best way to avoid that is to not let your fuel run low in the winter.

Tire pressure is another one of those problems when it is cold.Pressure can be lost on tires if the weather is cold. This would be bad because it can hasten the rate of making the tires go bald.Bald tires can be fatal on icy roads. So this is really a serious problem. So you must make it a point also to always check the pressure of the tires of your car.

So those are some of the most common auto problems during cold season.Doing the tips mentioned above will lead to prevention of some of those problems.  And when it is cold you definitely don’t want to have those problems.
