People who blog full-time will tell you that it is not always easy work. Being a good blogger takes passion, creativity, and time. Even famous writers such as Stephen King probably do not write every day. Like professors, bloggers must “publish or perish”. Maybe you’re already making some income from your blog; or perhaps not. In either case, if you do wish to make money from your blog, you can sell, or “flip” your blog, and still have some creative input into it – all while getting some (or all) of the things about blogging that you’re not crazy about, like driving traffic and promoting off your hands

Blogs can often be sold for about 1-2 years of residual income. In other words, you can make money during this time without any writing that you don’t want to do – or throwing your years of hard work down the toilet. Normally, the new blog owner/investor does not want to alter your core message – although due to different interpretations you may see some minor changes. However, the heart of your blog will {likely|normally|usually|almost always} remain intact. But what happens if you miss blogging? Well, investors will often let you contribute (while sharing the increased revenues!) In fact, they are usually inclined to keep you, due to the simple fact that they don’t want to screen new writers, be faced with buying articles (which lowers their bottom line, or worst of all, (the horrors!) – write it on their own.

Another reason to flip is this: don’t you get tired of the non-creative tasks, like marketing?. If you don’t actually enjoy the business side of things, it may pay off in the long run to search for a buyer/investor who is willing to ”play ball” monetarily and take over these tasks.

To bring the highest possible price, you may want to look at preparing your blog for resale . Investors often scout for blogs that have many long posts with many keywords, and still provide value to a niche. If you have a niche blog, even better. Knowledge of what types of social networking and advertising works best with your blog can ramp up the value to the investor dramatically, increasing the price that the blog commands – as well as any product-driven monetizing. If you are currently making a profit from selling any type of subscription, sales negotiation is clearly in your favor.

If you want to flip immediately, don’t stress yourself out about the remodeling. There are plenty of buyers in the game willing to look at a fixer-upper for the right price. Most importantly, do your research. Look into what blogs similar to yours are currently going for. Be quick to reply to inquiries from potential investors and make your self highly available via email or social networking. Ask questions and give lots of statistics. Explain to your potential investor what you dreamed of doing but didn’t have time to do – ideas to improve growth will help them to decide on moving forward.

In conclusion, the easiest way to cash out your blog is to let an investor(who has the know-how and expertise) take over any tasks you’d rather not spend your time on – such as web design, advertising, and marketing.
